A music box arrangement of the soundtrack for "Forest Of Memories" (思い出の森), the critically acclaimed animated short film from 1998 by Kasshoku Animation. Adapted from the short story of the same name written by Hitoshi Oda it focuses on a dream-like journey of a man returning to a forest he visited as a child only to find it replaced by a near-lifeless desert. He finds he must go on a journey to find the water god who's mysteriously gone missing and should be able to return the forest to its prior condition. With the companionship of a young boy he meets who lives nearby and reminds him of himself as a child, they set out, unsure of what or whom they'll meet.

[None of this is true, it's only a concept for the album. I apologize if you got your hopes up. There's a cool trailer on YouTube for what seems to be an independently animated short film by the same name, although it appears to have been never finished.]
